    Students Accepted into STEPS Program
Four students from the Culinary Arts, Hospitality and Tourism School at Eastside High School have been chosen to participate in the STEPS program (Students Taking an Early Pathway to Success) for their senior year during the 2019-2020 academic school year. Paterson Public Schools have partnered with Passaic County Community College to allow these students the opportunity to complete their senior year on campus, while also obtaining college credits. Stephen Octable, Athziri Castellanos, Emilly Cruz and Algeny Zenon are four of only ten students chosen among Paterson Public School juniors throughout the district.
CAHTS Senior accepted into Auto Apprenticeship
CAHTS Senior, Kevin Rivera, has been accepted into the competitive “IAM CREST District 15 Automotive/Diesel Technicians Pre-Apprenticeship Program.” Kevin is one of only two students chosen from Paterson, with only 20 students chosen for this program from the entire state! With this acceptance, Kevin will receive the cost of attending trade school, along with earning a wage while learning the trade alongside a Union mechanic. Congratulations, Kevin!
CAHTS student scores a perfect score on the National Spanish Exam
Natalia Almonte, a junior from the Culinary Arts, Hospitality and Tourism School at Eastside High School, scored a perfect score on this year’s administration of the National Spanish Exam. This annual exam, taken by students studying Spanish as a second language across the country, measures students’ performance in interpretive communication and proficiency of the Spanish language.
CAHTS celebrates their top students and Red Nose Day at Citi Field
The School of Culinary Arts, Hospitality and Tourism at Eastside High School travelled with their top 40 students in both the junior and senior classes to Citi Field to cheer on the New York Mets. Not only were the top students in the school recognized, but the school also supported “Red Nose Day” in dedication to ending child poverty in our country.
